But everytime i connect it to my Itunes to sync it says syncing iPhone the progress bar goes all the way to the top and then it says complete ok to disconnect, but nothing has transferred over :(.

You might want to relax a bit. Not an hour gone between first and second post. By cracked, you mean jailbroken?
What have you ticked to sync so far....music, apps? Try taking off all items to sync, and just try one song, or playlist for example.

what do want iTunes for? use an alternative I have posted them in this thread

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056048654

Sharepod is a little outdated but CopyTrans works with the iPhone 3/4

but if you really want to use iTunes I can only think that a firmware reinstall might be required

Will these copy apps and films too ?

He's made it quite clear what he wants to do. However you're so eager for a little rant against iTunes, you seem to have missed the point completely.

I'd just like to figure out why it wont copy files in the sync. Thanks

You may want to look up the definition of help then, mate, because what you were doing sure wasn't.

    yeah whatever Rebel

anyway Murphy it could be a number of things that could be causing it

    but first off

did you try the phone on another PC\Mac?

oh I do remember I had a similar problem with a 2g iPhone a few years ago and this worked

    Connect your iPhone to PC
    Then Open iTunes
    Click "Store"
    then Click "Authorize Computer"

and it started syncing straight away

oh and if you have any podcasts on your phone delete them

Nope authorization didnt work. and I bought the phone of adverts and it was given to me with nothing on it except for cydia thats it. Well obviouysly that made it sim-free. Im totally lost

have you turned off the phone and turned it back on by holding the top button?

    I have to ask :D

Have you downloaded any apps from app store? If not download a few free ones and sync again, they should transfer to iTunes.

Yes i have turned it on and off. I will try that but im trying to transfer my music and apps from my computer to my iphone

Have you ticked "manual" for syncing your music? As long as it's the same iTunes account for both phone and computer the apps should sync across ok.

Downloaded some apps. Nothing transfered. Either way.

No thats not ticked. I think the problem would have something to do with that cydia app ?

    It shouldn't. Have you tried this;

Click on your iPhone icon in iTunes. On the top you'll see a list beginning with Summary. Click on Music or Apps. What boxes are ticked, if any. ie Sync Music or Sync Apps. Tick them then press sync.
