Corolla Oil type?

    Hi folks

    Juts confirming really. I have a 1998 Corolla (4EFE) 1.3.

    I assume 10W-30 is the oil I need to service it? (just want to keep this basic, bog standard and simple). Can anyone ok this for me?

    Normally for pre 2000 Toyotas its 10w40 and after 2000 its 5w30.

    I've been told 10w-30. So let the confusion begin. Can anyone else confirm

    When changing the oil in my uncles 1998 corolla 1.3 litre 4EFE for him in the past I have used 10W 40. He doesn't have an owners manual in the car but anytime I went into the motor factors and asked for oil and filter for said car they gave me 10W 40. Wasn't the case that it was just same motor factors the whole time as got my supplies in a number of different motor factors. Of course thats not to say they were all right either but I'd be hoping they were!

    Edge 0W-30
    and
    MAGNATEC 10W-40 A3/B4

    This used to be so simple.
