Tabata - How Often?

How often do people do this?

I ask because I did my first one yesterday at the end of a session (think I only hit seven reps and nearly got sick)

If your goal is increasing overall fitness and stamina while dropping the last %s of body fat, how often should it be done, and how often could it be done safely?

I ask about frequency because I've read once or twice a week, month etc then the original study was 5 times a week...

Your body will adapt to it the more frequently you do it. That being said, if you're pushing to the limit each session I'd expect to get sick/injured/unable to train for whatever reason pretty quickly. Especially if you're low kcal'n.

    Cheers Hanley,

My thoughts were twice a week at the end of two of my weights sessions ( three weights sessions a week with two or three cardio, cardio days being a mixture of everything from steady state to conditioning exercises) I say two or three cardio sessions as realistically I miss a couple of Saturdays and end up taking the full weekend off

Would that be too much, should I replace one Tabata with a 10 min+ 1:1.5 HIIT session do you think?
