    hey guys

    not sure if this is the right forum but i was wondering does anyone know someone around the wexford area that would be able to help us record our school orchestra on a cd

    we would need this person to be able to come to the school and record a few tracks perhaps 12 or 13 all together

    we also need someone to copy this cd and design a picture to go on to the front of it

    if any one has any help at all let me know

    Its not a simple task,you'd need to contact a recording studio or someone who does live sound.

    Are you trying to capture a particular performance at a particular time or do you just want to record the group.

    If you just want to record the group maybe it would be best to go to the studio instea of the studio coming to you.

    As for the cd copying its easily done and a quick google should get you some results for cd dupilcation

    i doubt the group would fit in any recording studio there is over 300 in it and we just want to record the orchestra playing few songs then a few soloists playin others so we are looking for someone well experienced in the business of recording

    what quality would you want esp for the soloists on their own cos a bare brick room with you guys could sound really bad ie the average school plus how much are you willing to spend is it 12 tracks aswel as the soloists.....also what do you hope to do with the cd release it or for personal use or radioplat ect

    Lads, no need to start talking about how it'll be recorded or the reasons why, I'm guessing this person is not even a musician, and definitely not a budding engineer. Posterity alone is a good reason to do something like this. Sales, marketing etc. are not relevant.

    blondyjim, you need to repost this with a clearer description of what you want. A heading such as "Engineer wanted to record school Orchestra" would attract more interest. Type it up properly too. Also, get the phonebook and ring around. Most studios can do location work. I've done a few of these projects in the past but I don't know anyone in Wexford.
