    Hope someone can help.
My Husband has been self employed for years and has now decided to go down the paye route.
His annual income will be 45k he will have all our credits etc.
we also have 3 children, not sure if that makes any difference.
can anyone help with calculating what the weekly take home would be.

We have no idea of levys, prsi etc.

    Thanks in advance.

My spreadsheet can help with this- you can download it at the top of the following page:

    http://taxcalc.eu/monthlyss/dlf/beta calculator.htm

If you need a hand with using it either leave a message on this thread or send me a PM.

When you say you don't understand it, does it open like a normal spreadsheet or is it a list of weird looking files?

If it's a list of weird looking files, see the instructions on http://taxcalc.eu/monthlyss/Problems%20downloading%202007%20file.htm - sometimes there's a problem if you save it using Internet Explorer

If it's saved OK it should look like the attached image when you open it. Let me know if you are getting this.

If you don't have Excel 2007 try this Excel 2003 (slightly older) file available at this address:

In case it still doesn't work, here's the annual figures it generates for a married couple, 1 income of €45000 pa with a stay at home spouse using the 2010 rates for a full year:
    PAYE 2610
    PRSI/Health 3336
    Income levy 900

This gives a net weekly income after all deductions of €733.74.

As your husband will be changing mid-year from self employed to employee status the values might differ depending on his earnings & use of credits for the period while he was self employed.

Ah your very good, I have spent the last 20mins trying to look at your stuff, managed to download it to excel 2007, and then trying to enable marcos.

    Thats great thanks,
god it means we will be down 270 per week on the net figure aagghh
think we will have to bite the bullet and go for it, work is to unstable and at least we will have a steady wage, holiday pay and paying a full stamp.

    Cheers
    C
