Mods I posted this over on nutrition & diet but did not get much info. I'm basically after some good butchers in Dublin to source lean meat ideally on the northside. My own butchers can very inconsistent with their fillet steaks etc.Anyone know a butcher that sells venison & veal also?

The northside is a large area. Where are you? (approximately)

Have you ever considered rib-eye steaks?

Kerrigan's meat factory Unit 58 Baldoyle Industrial Estate.

Great value, lots of good deals of different meats in bulk and great selection of meats.

    Can't go wrong

As an aside to this, anyone able to recommend a good butcher in Dublin 6 area?

Would be buying mostly chicken fillets and steaks, taking into account price and quality. Id be looking to go once every week or 2 weeks and buy enough that I could freeze and work away at for a week or 2.

Stoneybatter/Smithfield area. The Fresh market. Lovely guys at the butcher counter....top quality mince and fillet steaks at reasonable prices. KG of less than 3% fat round steak mince for 10 euro and he reckons even less than 3% fat after it has been minced.

I'm sure cheaper exists but I don't buy anywhere else.

I've been googling but can't find where that is, any chance of a location on google maps, or a phone number?

Hi people. Dublin based here. I have discovered fish lately. Got a Rick Stein book and after sailing in Howth I stock up on salmon, mackerel, ray, bream, bass, Dublin bay prawns, mussels etc... Their is fierce competition between the various mongers in Howth and sometimes there are great deals. Cheaper still to buy the fish whole and gut it yourself. Makes a difference to the body!

Regarding butchers, the ones on Talbot st. and Moore st. stock all sorts of meat from beef, sheep, rabbit, venison to chicken and turkey.
