    My opinion of Monty, traditionally has been that he is a cantankerous, pompous old git - but I have to say that I've warmed to him a lot over the past number of years.

    One thing you can't fault him on, is his Ryder Cup record as a player nor can you question his passion for the tournament and pride in European golf.

    He is labouring the 'no I in team' piece a little bit for me, which would grate on you a bit but I think he will prove to be an inspirational leader win/lose/draw.

    What do we all think of Monty?
