Not with PIAB. If you don't accept it and it lapses you can sue in the courts. You can negotiate with the defence at anytime. IT happens that after court proceedings start a higher offer is made by the defence. On other occasions it goes to a full court hearing.

You should think about this carefully. If PIAB make you an offer and you refuse it, it will go to court (if you choose to pursue it). If you lose, you may be liable for costs. Open to correction, but I also believe that if your award in court is less than that originally advocated by the PIAB, then you may also be liable for costs.

Only if you fail to beat a lodgement in court.

Hi jason just wondering what were you injuries and what did they offer you as i was involved in a accident in march and i am still off work with whiplash injuries to neck and back now i dont want to take the piss out of the system so just wondering and how long did injuries board take to give you an offer ?

injuries board cant give an offer until the injuries are covered or until there is at least knowledge of when the injury will have cleared.

most cases from start of legal proceedings to settlement via piab or courts is approx 12-18months, so you still have a bit of time to go.
