Meeting arranged to settle case

I have to go into a meeting with the defendents and my solicitor soon to settle a case i have ongoing.

Can anyone briefly tell me what this entails and is it likely to actually be settled that day? Or is it a case of meeting with them, being offered something im not willing to accept and this is repeated again a few months later?

I know i could ask my solicitor, but id probably be charged for that. Would just like to know whether i should start getting excited that an end is in sight or is this just another step in the process (am waiting 4 years+ to settle this).

    Any insight would be appreciated.

Your solicitor will hardly charge you for expressing a view as to the prospects of a successful settlement.

You can assume that the meeting would not be set up unless there were reasonable prospects of settling. - but sometimes it may take two or more such meetings, and sometimes the case still has to go to trial.

If the case ìs going on for four years - which is not unusual - you should have built up a good relationship with your solicitor, and should not need to resort to this board to assess your chances.

    Good luck with your case.
