    Its a 04 VW Polo -

When you hit the button for electric window , it will rise within 2 inches of the top and suddenly reverse back down to the bottom again .

Anyone know a quick solution ?

If it wont go up by keeping the button pressed, it could be that there is something fouling the mechanism. The reset problem usually only effects the one touch close function.

If you can get it fully closed by keeping the button pressed, then release button then press button again in the close direction for over 2 seconds then release. That is a common reset procedure for vw/audi.

just check the channels where the window runs up. there might be something in one and causing extra resistance on the motor which makes it go back down. its a safety feature in-case a child sticks there hand out when the window is closing etc.

if the polo is anything like the golf or passat there is a steel cable inside the door inside panel and when it's used alot will fray and start to get caught and automatically go back down again, you can buy a new cable and rail's together in a motor factor.not too hard to replace.
