What's wrong with my iPhone 4 battery life?

Looking at the below image, it includes:

45min approx of listening to music
    about 20-30 texts
20 min approx on the phone
30 min of using the stumbleupon app
other general bits, email, web browsing etc etc no games what so ever totaling around 60 minutes, that includes facebook and rte news

I'm aware that list doesn't add up to the total usage, but I didn't do much else with it, so unless my times are slightly off I've forgotten what I did, but it can only have been more of whats there, as the only other options are games, location based services, camera usage, etc non of which were used.

Wifi is always on, while not always connected, but the changes are so frequent its a major pain to keep changing it
    bluetooth is off
location services is on but not used by anything
brightness is full, no question of being changed.

    Any thoughts people?

Some apps use battery in the background. Double tap the Home button and see what's running. See if you have email on manual, that saves juice, wifi uses less than 3G so knock one off while on another.

Brightness at full is the killer I'm afraid. You either live with less battery or less brightness.

Hmmm, it was never this bad though and I haven't changed anything that much tbh. Thered be an average of 15 apps open at any given time, while one or two may use battery, which could be the issue, the amount of apps open doesn't have a large affect on battery life.

How much battery life would an 8th or a bit more of brightness save?

It's really a matter of trying it out and see what kind of rate it drops at. Another thing is to let it run down to zero and give a full charge overnight, I've come across that suggestion a few times. Another thing I've noticed is numerous windows open in Safari seem to zap a percent or two. All these can result in a couple of percent an hour.

Same - was having big probs with battery dropping quickly.

Unfortunately (from your OP view), way I solved it was to reduce brightness - have seen a major major improvement since.
