i have been summoned to court four times now as a witness to a traveller ice cream fight :rolleyes ; it taught me a lesson never to give a statement :o

Anyway the case was just heard there today and was laughed at, as it would be, and was adjourned till oct 2011.

I had to miss a total of 3 days of work to attend court and the officer i was dealing with told me to ring him if there is any witness expenses due before i left the courtroom today.

Anyone know what i am entitled to and what documentation i would need to produce? I cant even remember the other court dates

I was in court once as a witness. From what I recall I got my wages back for the days I was off and travel expenses.

That's as far as I can remember though. Was a while back.

Once the case is over you can submit a wage slip and how many days you are owed. The state will re emburse you to a certain max per day. Your also entitled to travel and meals during the days your in court. Submit mileage, lunches and your wages. Simples

Any idea what the max amount per day is? It'd certainly make me less likely to give a statement for anything if I was going to be out of pocket for it.
