Between poor journalism and utter bullsh1t statements, the newspapers are becoming impossible to read.

    2 from todays Indo.

"Weaker sterling will increase the prices of goods imported whilst help those exporting to the UK" - HELLO!!! - a wealer sterl;ing mean UK goods are CHEAPER and Irish to UK exports are more EXPENSIVE.

"Reatil sales in pavilions fell by up to 20% in past 2 years" - Who are you fooling. Retail sales in Pavilions have fallen by up to 50% - That's why so many of the shops have closed!

It's sad, but not enough people within daily journalism seem to care about standards.

They don't understand that getting what many journalists see "small" details wrong slowly erodes trust.

Often its specialised information that few know so it will be viewed that the detail isn't that important, but sooner or later a lot of people know papers are getting too much wrong.

And sometimes its getting facts wrong, other times its asking the wrong questions, leaving out key details, only giving one side of the story when there's clearly two, or just not having a clue what they're talking about.
