Macbook WiFi Antenna Broken

    Hey all,

A friend of mine is having a problem with her macbooks wifi antenna, she brought it into the shop and they said it was damaged or had come loose from bending back the screen too far.

They said a fix was about 700 euro, seems a bit mental charging close to the price of a new laptop for it!

Was wondering if there is any external wifi cards that could be used on a macbook dating back about 4 years? I've had a look around google and hardware really isnt my strong point!

    Thanks in advance,

It sounds like they want to replace the complete screen and bits. You could buy a wireless usb adapter and plug in just make sure it is mac compatible.
    Maybe something like this:

Amazing, exactly what I was looking for!

TRENDnet Wireless N USB Adaptor V2.0

Just looking through the info on the adaptor and I want to make sure I have this right. Using this USB device my friend should be able to connect to her wireless home network and any other WiFi spots around the place yeah?

Its not like one of the sim card ones that O2 and Vodaphone supply right?

Thanks a lot for your help!

its strictly for wifi, those o2/vodafone/meteor yokes are only for their networks. the trendnet device will connect to any wifi network.
