Some nice original cars there. Irish 131s are practically extinct,as are 127s.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

I grew up as a kid in the 80's and every car here was the basic model and cars from the UK always had a the most basic requirements...

On the assemby line did every where else in the world go on one line and then for ireland, we got all the Sh*t.

Did they have a seperate assemby line seriosly when assembling Fiats destined for Ireland...

I never saw a cabrio Sh1tmo in Ireland in the 80's brought in as an Irish car...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccHB4HvaCyM

Fiats were far ahead of ford in most departments if they only did something about the rust , what did ford have to compare to a 125 in 71 ,5 speed hand throttle disc brakes all round centre armrest cloth seats 100bhp , nothing i think:)

take off a wiper panel on any 131 & what do you find? lots of rust!
why because all thats there is bare steel with no protection under the large fist sized blob of sealer which allows the water to creep underneath & rot rot rot, dont care where the car came from lhd or rhd hot or cold climate its rotten under that panel, i know!
cool car the 131 sport i know a guy near me restoring one my god some work going into that car!

Passing through Tullamore early morning, last Sunday 26th September and seen 3 yellow Fiats in convoy, they looked great to me, real classics, square and what I can make out where the model of each where the 124 a 128, and a 121.
But I can be corrected on this, no pics Doing 100km in the opposite direction (Sorry)

When pointed out to the missus she just glanced and said " I think my Dad had one of those" ??? And back to doing her nails (ERRRR)

They looked great there travelling in tandom along the Tullamore By-Pass, made my day.

They looked super, all the same shade of yellow and still standing out.

    Any Regatta's amongst the herd?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,437 ✭✭✭kasper

the last time i drove a regatta the brakes failed hit a traffic light pole and wrote off the car , i was doing about 30 mph with three passengers when it happened , at least no one was hurt .

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,461 ✭✭✭Max_Damage

Last time I saw a Regatta was in Mullingar around 2004. Haven't seen one since.

Begs the question, is their any Irish Regatta's left in the country?
