Budget Grad dress!

Hi, can anyone give me any tips on where to pick up an inexpensive cocktail dress, I want to wear it to me graduation that's coming up!
I don't really want to spend weeks looking, and I'm still not comfortable getting clothes on line.
Shoe shop advice also welcome

Savida in dunnes. you would get a dress there for about 40 id say. my friend got her 21st dress there :eek: it was red and had flowers on the bottom. lovely when it was dressed up. there it is in cream and obly 35e

I got a gorgeous purple dress with a bow on the empire line for a grand total of €24.99 in TK Maxx last year. It got loads of compliments too!

If you have a good root you could find beautiful stuff.
I don't think this would be what you'd call a cocktail dress but this is what I wore to my graduation last year!

Love that blue, I'll def have a look in TK Maxx, I never manage to find anything there, though I know loads of people who do.

TK Maxx have a "Little Black Dress" promo running at the moment, got a lovely dress for a wedding last Friday, only €26.99! It's a "love it or hate it" place, always manage to find something in there myself but have a friend who has palpitations at the thought of going in there:pac:

Wallis or New Look I find are quite good for shoes, if you're on a budget, go for gold or silver so you can wear them again.

I just spent Saturday morning looking for a cocktail type dress.

I looked all over the Grafton St area and eventually found this dress in Coast.

As I mentioned in another thread, it's definitely not something I'd have gone for before, but it looks really good on. Coast have a pretty good sale on, with some lovely dresses included, and if you have a student card you can get 20% off (even sale items!), which definitely makes it more affordable.

TKMaxx have lots of dresses in at the moment, so definitely worth a look.

I didn't see much in Oasis, River Island, Dunnes, etc.

Oh sale and further discount, thanks for the tip! I think I'll have a wee peek in them all, will head in tomorrow I think for a look around.

My dress is actually purple but it comes out blue in pictures! Either way it is still fab!
