Apologies in advance if this issue has already been addressed but I'm brand new user.

I am basically thinking of having a home energy audit and was hoping to get some recommendations of companies people have used. What was the cost? I've checked the net and there seems to be so many.

You can get an official Building Energy Rating (BER) done by any accredited BER assessor. They are accredited by SEAI so if you're unsure, you can always check with SEAI if the person is registered. General rule of thumb is to get a few quotes and don't go for the cheapest person. The BER assessor should give you a few recommendations on how to upgrade your property with the final report.

For more of a one-stop-shop, including actual upgrade works, you could get a report done with Bord Gais (Home Team), ESB (HALO), or another independent one-stop-shop service. Make sure they help you avail of any SEAI grants that you may be eligible for:

Dont get a BER cert you dont need one. just get the audit and try to get it specilised for your home. BER is only needed if your going to sell or rent so save yourself spme money and dont get one.
