Question about Tax Credits and Joint Assessment

I am a little confused about how tax credits work.

My wife is self employed, I am PAYE. We are jointly assessed and I get her tax credits.

Am I correct in thinking she gets no Tax Credits as she is self employed and there's no equivalent of the PAYE Tax Credit for the self employed? and assuming she earns under 27,400 but say more than 20,000, she pays Tax @ 20% on everything, plus PRSI, Health Levy and Income Levy ofc.

    Tnx,

    Inq
