    can anyone recommend good headgear and where it can be got?

    think you might be opening a can of worms here, everybodys opinion on headgear ,let alone type is different.

    Ok are you looking for headgear for fights or just training?
    my own oppinion is headgear are only a protection against cuts in sparring and in a fight they can lead to a fighter taking more blows to the head before a knockout occurs which cant be good for the brain.

    Anyway the best in my oppinion is TOP TEN byer rubber headgear, as the don't let you over-heat as much as leather or other material headgears, and they absorbe alot of impacts and are very reliable and long lasting, your best bet for getting them is Mullin Sport Capel St , in Dublin or probably www.ringsportireland.ie
