What Fader Controllers are da Brothers using ?

I've just acquired a Tascam US2400 to run with my Ptools and Logic rig.

I'd be interested in hearing what other people are using and what's good and bad.

    Behringer BCF2000.

    Good- cheap, reliable, flexible.
Bad- No channel strip, a little in accurate.

It was the 24 faders that attracted me to the Tascam, so for an average mix one would only be doing 1 fader bank 'flip' ...

Yamaha 01v96 and mackie control giving me 24 faders.
I don't understand why Tascam stopped making the us2400.

I remember saying the same to the Tascam guys at The BMF one year.
They'd reduced them down to £799 where they were flying out - they'd initially been about £1600 as I recall - and noone was buying.

I think it was sort of a joint project with a company called Sane Wave - that may have had something to do with it too.

I think it's a great box . 24 faders , transport and fader control for Auxes too.

Digidesign Command8 (bought 2nd hand from EBay)... I'm using PTLE on an iMac. It's very well integrated with PT (as you'd expect). Decent build quality etc... but way overpriced for what it is.

While I do prefer to have a control surface, the C8 only has 8 faders, so on an average session, I might need to flick through banks up to 3 or 4 times.

That was the thing that made me hold out - In my opinion any additional load on the brain is a negative.

I'm setting up so that for the first 24 (bank A) will be the same all the time , even if some tracks aren't getting used - to maintain consistency from mix to mix i.e. minimal 'conscious' thinking.

Yeah, I'd love to have a control surface with 24 discrete (or ideally 48!) channels - especially for mixing. In reality though, I couldn't justify the cost of paying for one that’s PT compatible. Also, I wouldn't physically have enough space for such a large desk in my home set up (it’s very, er, cosy).

So the C8 is a compromise. I prob don’t use it as much as I should… I got too used to mouse / point & click before I finally got the C8.

Still – it does have nice shiny lights & faders that move as if by magic, so, along with my trusty lava lamp, it gives the people impression that my studio is really professional :D

    You'll pick up a US2400 on Ebay for £600/£800.

I had a bcf2000 for a while and it was remarkably good for behringer. fully motorised so flicking through 'scenes' (think they called them scenes instead of banks) was a breeze.
