Question re: buying telescope

Just wondering would I be just as well buying one here in Dublin as opposed to buying offline, where they are indeed cheaper, but I was wondering has anyone been ripped off with postage charges or Goverment taxes etc.
I just dont want to end up paying an extra hundred quid on such nonsense.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Ìf you're buying from inside the EU then there are no additional taxes/duties.
But there will be carraige, which can be reasonable to silly.

I have bought telescopes both online and second hand from a gent in Ireland.

Both turned out fine and total package costs very reasonable.

I have bought a number of eyepieces and accesseries online, again without any problems.

You get a huge choice buying online!

    BUT!
What you miss by buying online is the opportunity to see what you're buying first hand and some of the expertise of the shop/person that is selling the item.

    Clear skies,
    Peter
