    Hi

I'm planning on switching from sky to upc and getting my broadband from upc also.

I was just wondering what sort of cabling I need internally so I can have the cables in place when they come to install?

    Is it just normal coax?

    Also do I need 2 cables for a hd+ and + box?

    Cheers

Is your installation not free??? AFAIK there is no need to have cabling in place. I got UPC 6 weeks ago and the Installer did all the cabling. He did use the existing cable for the 2nd + box/dvr.I was not charged for anything. The same should apply to you.

Do not let them touch your current Sky cables. Plenty of decent FTA channels there that you can still watch.

Upc use CT100 cabling, they are not meant to use any internal cabling unless newly build, as the 0lder cables are inferior and prone to interference.

    UPC use RG6 I thought ...

They absolutely should not interfere with your Dish, Digibox or existing cables which gives about 45+ decent channels (free) in higher quality than UPC cable.

Their Broadband is great though and is available separate from TV if you ever decide to save money and watch only free TV, you can downgrade.

    Hi farreca

Give my guys a call on 1890940635 and they will talk you through it all. If you have existing tv (coax) cables in your home, we should be able to use them.

on your second point, No, if you have a UPC tv point in your home and we can supply service, you will not need a second cable ran for your plus box (unlike sky)

Best still, if you order and switch from sky via boards, you will get a free €50 voucher for your trouble.....

    Regards

    Jason
If you want to order new products from us and get a voucher for €50 through this boards offer, (and free installation - No activation charges) just click through this link (Please see the terms & conditions)
