Travel insurance for training abroad

    Hi folks,

Just wondering if anyone who previously travelled abroad to train took out travel insurance which covered martial arts and if so could you provide a link / details?

I'm off to thailand in a while and plan to get some training in. I'm not going to be fighting and suspect it'd be fairly straightforward to visit hospital with a plausable story to cover any possible injury I might recieve training but figure if theres decent insurance available it might be worth it for peace of mind. Almost anything I've looked at bars martial arts or is very expensive.

    Cheers.

I got mine through a broker called abc. I think it's just abc.ie but can't be 100% sure. They're based on the southside. D6 somewhere IIRC. It was cheap as chips. Well worth the money.

Nice one think I have them tracked down. I'll give them a ring tomorrow and poste their details if its the right place.

Yeah, make sure you ask for the martial arts insurance or whatever. It's slightly different than normal insurance but only slightly more expensive.

Cheers, I tried that place. They provide insurance once you train at a club they also cover (which is fairly likely, sounds like there's only two places that provide this kind of cover). Their details are at: http://www.abcinsurance.net/

Unfortunately i'll also be looking to do a bit of rock climbing which they don't cover  Multitrip.com seems to be my beast bet so far but I'll keep looking around.

Khannie can you tell us a bit more about this. Does it cover training only?

Nah, it's regular insurance plus it covers you for martial arts activities too. Not much more I can tell you to be honest.
