Seems Brian Hayes, who until the Bruton-Kenny spat was one of the leading lights in FG is of the opinion that Labours Higgins would be a better president than his own partys possible nominations of Sean Kelly MEP and Mairead McGuinness MEP. He would support a candidate such as John Bruton or Gay Mitchell if they were to run but I find it a strange comment all the same that a party that aspires to be the biggest at the next election cannot get support from one of its leading TDs.
