Slightly off -topic ! What is the average price of a helmet nowadays. Was in a Lifestyle shop in the midlands last week and saw the Azzuri ones for €65 & up:eek:

Coopers cheaper? Are these the new coopers? If so the local merchant here is selling them for €80 as far as I'm aware. If theres somewhere you can buy them cheap let me know as mine's nearly worn out :)

They promised to have new Coopers out for last Christmas aswell, then for March 2010 and then they delayed it again. ITs getting a bit ridiculous.
Ive wanted to get one for a while now but I'm getting impatient and I'm just going to buy a new Mycro if they have'nt brought one out by Jan 2011.

For Cooper to say why it has been delayed but fairly sure it was outta their hands. If you want one badly, buy a junior one. The only difference is there double padding in the junior complared to the senior so just take out a layer

my head dosent fit into any of the new helmets. not being funny!!

I had to custom fit my helmet a few years back. Have never managed to get one that fits. badly need a new one!

    http://www.cooper.ie/

Check there maybe. You're not going to get a cooper helmet off anyone sane for less than €80.

There is (or was anyway 3 or 4 years ago) a lad selling coopers in Borris-ileigh in Tipp for €120. He was doing good business too. Not sure of details though. These included the Gerry Cleere "Kilkenny" faceguard I think too.

Here, you might find something on Bebo of all places: http://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId=5054937520

i sold one for €50 a few months back. Practically brand new. After i got cut through it for a second time (got cut through my old one last year too). It was a junior helmet but fits adults perfect. Junior ones on the cooper.ie site will fit adults.

yea i would one of the junior ones. but the old style cooper sk100 are the best fit. i would love to get a red stitched senior:)

What about low league junior full backs with big heads and a hangover?! Will it fit them? :D

Out of curiousity lads, why the preference for Cooper over Mycro. Last I checked Mycro were €55 from their factory in Ballincollig and my youny-fella is fairly happy with his. Is a fit thing or looks???

Some would argue coopers are more comfortable. Some will argue they look nicer and some will argue both.

My opinion is that they are a nicer style and more comfortable as they are lighter and less bulky. It's the players preference. If your kid is happy there's no need buying a cooper instead.

Dont know bout the insurance thing but I know the sk100 coopers are rarely cheaper, found one a while back and put it in buyandsell for €150, phone went crazy for 2 weeks, still worth more than the modern helmets, couldnt beat the stitching in those old helmets, classic

If someone wants to sell something or link to a good deal, then use adverts.ie, not ebay or promote PM trades.

    Thanks

Can face guards be got separately? Couldn't find any place online. Not looking for anything fancy wire guards off a Mycro or Cooper will do. Need 5-6.

It's in bold this time, any more selling of stuff through here will lead to bans

is it easy to take out the extra layer of padding so it will fit me? I'm thinking of buying a new cooper so I'm just wondering if the junior version available on cooper.ie will definitely fit.
