I usually drink about 4 cups of tea and one or 2 coffees a day (pre and post training) and I was wondering would the tea contribute towards your daily allowance of water?

Yep, tea has a mild diuretic effect but it's still a net gain by a wide margin.

Yes. All liquid counts, including wine, soup and even high liquid food like cucumber.

There is a nonsense notion that only pure water (no doubt passed by fairies) counts, and anything else you drink disappears into the ether.
