hyundai trajet gearbox

Hi all, I need advice on my 04 trajet, the gears suddenly seemed to 'snap' and wouldnt go into any gear! does this mean the whole gearbox needs replacing, i have read that there is a prob with hyundai gearboxs but are hyundai doing any recalls on them or am i on my own with this??? am i looking at big expense? could really…

Don't panic just yet.It might be just the gear lever linkage has failed.

i dont know much about engines but would that still be a big job? I am taking it to a mechanic a friend recommended tomorrow and am afraid of being landed with a huge bill !

Fingers crossed it may be something fairly simple/cheap. If the mechanic is recommended, hopefully he won't rip you off...
