Seems to be alot of mallards around this year in these parts - must have been a good breeding season. Though alot are hanging out in places that are off limits for shooting:(

Unfortunately haven't been out as often as I'd like but any time I was out there were a lot of duck about, especially mallard.

My cartridge bag is full of all sorts of weird and wonderful flavours of cartridges I have picked up over the years but what I bring with me to the shore 90% of the time is 36 gram 5 and 6.

2 reasons, they cycle flawlessly in my semi auto and they have great stopping power if I hit the ducks cleanly. No divers or swimmers if I do my bit

Don't have a cold room so at this time of year it's only about 2 days because after that they're stink.

It has gotten a lot colder since the weekend though so I might get a day or 2 more now
