There promises to be some good games so come along and support if you can. I for one will be hoping the dubs can overcome Tyrone.

Best of luck to Gerry and all the girls. Up the Jackies!

I'll be watching all if it! That linesperson would want to go to Specsavers, ball was clearly well out over the line for Louth's first goal. HT Louth 3-4, Limerick 1-4 in the Junior game

Congrats to Limerick, who beat Louth in the junior final, FT 4-10 to 3-8.

Anyone see the Donegal back land a punch at the full forward for Waterford? Couldnt believe my eyes, it looked intentional. I dont watch much ladies football but I cant think of ever seeing a red card in a game, she got away with it anyway

I'd say it was a case of the ref and umpire missing it - ref head down to put the score in the book, umpire going down for the flag - very lucky girl. There aren't that many red cards in ladies football as opposed to mens because it is a cleaner game, I think having the sin bin and the different tackle make it that way

HT Intermediate game, Waterford 0-8, Donegal 1-7

Well done to Dublin so close last few years so well deserved.

Felt sorry for Tyrone I think they are much better then score suggests.

    Always next year.

Sinead Aherne was fantastic today for Dublin, from the very start Dublin were very sharp, had a gameplan, some of the Tyrone passing left them down at times, but Dublin found their girl every time. Senior A and senior B double for Dublin ladies football this year. Weird to think that at the start of the year they got relegated from Division one along with Kerry, hard thing to happen

3-16 to 0-9 was the final score

Brilliant to see Dublin win an All ireland :D

Not only did the ball bounce for Dublin, they were also the better team. They attacked well, helped a lot by Sinead Ahearne's performance. But they also defended very well. They got bodies back behind the ball, and it was rewarded with how much ball they won back. I enjoyed the game a lot.

Maybe you are but in case you aren't and for others who aren't, the officials today were all sponsored by Specsavers. No joke. :)That was one of the laughs of the day. Three good matches. You could see the difference in standard between Junior, Intermediate and Senior. A good day for Dublin. It is a long time since we won an All-Ireland in Croke Park, so it was good to be there to witness it. Our men certainly have, but our ladies have had a few disappointing days there in recent years. It was good to finally win their first All-Ireland, and to do it in such style. Another one of the laughs of the day was when the Dublin captain said she wanted to thank Tommy and Gerry. :)

So that is nearly it for the year in terms of Croke Park. The last Sunday of September signals that. One more visit, for the International Rules match there on Saturday the 30th of September. The crowd today was disappointing, being about 21,000 but there will be a bigger one for that last big event of the year. For now it's back to club matches, culminating with the club finals on St. Patrick's Day, which is usually my first day in Croke Park of the year. I'm looking forward to it already. We've also got the provincial inter-county cup competitions and the league through the winter. The GAA season never seems to end, except for the sunshine fans. :) I invested in a warm Dublin hoodie in the shop in Croke Park today for those cold winter matches to come.

We know that, but a lot of people wouldn't. So it was quite funny to hear it actually announced in the stadium.

It was actually announced???? :D:D:D:D Hilarious I'd say!

Yes it was. It is very unusual to announce sponsors on the public address system, but it was clearly announced that the referee and official were being sponsored by Specsavers. Amazing, but true. I am an earwitness to this. :)

I'd actually feel embarrassed by it - wasn't too happy when I saw it announced originally!
