Hi I am flying out of Dublin in the next couple of days with the women I am going to propose to when we reach our destination

Being potentially stupid for a number of reasons I have bought the engagement ring and it will be travelling with me in my hand luggage

Having never travelled with any jewellary other then a watch whats the best way to get the ring through without a search?

Carry it in my pocket through the X-Ray Machine or leave it in my bag/jacket at securuty to go through as hand luggage as normal?

    Hand luggage.

But I think that's the least of your problem if you have one engagement ring between two or more women. Not sure what DAA security think about polygamy! ;)

Good luck , and let us know if its a yea or a nea will ya

    Jeez.
I never expected the aviation forum to be one for gosip unlike my airsoft forum tut tut tut :D

Best of luck mate I hope all goes well.
If you have a problem at security spur of the moment propose at security seen it once in dublin when the person had liquid with the ring for some reason.

You could always swallow it! It'll turn up again after a day or two;):D

Edit: Maybe stealthily call security to one side and explain the situation?

Anyone any hassles passing through the Xray screening process with metal pins and suchlike connecting their bones? I've a prosthetic disc in my neck and was wondering if I'm gonna light up the metal detectors?

just want to point out there is nothing wrong with setting up a second or more boards accounts!
Its just when someone does so to curcumvent a ban or get up to other mischief when it turns into a problem

People go through security with engagement rings and wedding rings on their hands all the time, and they don't set off the scanner...
