Just wondering cause i know there are a few trainers here...what are the basics you do for you clients, say you see them once a week....reason i ask is that i got a trainer and have had a trainer for the last say 3 months...and...well....im not sure to be honest:o, it just seems that the trainer isnt very motivating and keeps figures on a notepad that after the session you never see again and during a session every now and then will offer some nugget of enthusiastic motivation, i liken him to Chubbs from happy gilmore at the driving range with the elderly lady(sorry if you aint seen it), i had to really push hard to get the trainer to do deadlifts and squats with me and....it just kinda seems that its wasted cash on something that should have me on top of the world rather than leaving the gym wondering if the trainer is doing me any good, its almost like i feel better doing my workouts without a "professional" just earning the cash...so to speak.....any opinons??

It's a sad state of affairs when a client has to motivate a personal trainer to do some work!

I would recommend you hire another trainer for a single session and note the difference in quality.

If he's that bad then why stay with him? Sort out your own program, or find a better trainer.

    What area are you in?

If you're looking for constant motivation then you could do alot worse than Transform who just posted, he's a great motivator and will definitely keep you on your toes! He's based in Crossfit Ireland in Sandyford. Or if you're more focused on strength training and getting technique training for your lifts then I'd head out to Informed Performance in Glasnevin, you can join the gym or just go in for a few sessions with Will.

There are a few other good trainers on here too who know their stuff such as Jayroc. Anyone who can get a lady new to weights squatting 110kg is worth paying good money for in my book!
