.. but the disaster that was 'Cavemen' was a prime example of why you shouldn't be basing an entire television series on something like this.

Didn't even last 3 minutes into this - granted I had just watched an episode of Community which completely ripped the piss out of it and made me want to hate it from the get go. I don't think it'll last though...

I watched half of it then threw it in my recycle bin, had a few zingers but not enough, ratings wise....it did very well.

I don't think it matters that it's based on a Twitter feed.

But it wasn't the best pilot, pity cuz William Shatner is awesome in quirky comedy roles (Boston Legal!), had higher hopes for it!

Ditto, except I watched it twice. Once earlier on my own and just now after I watched community with a mate who wanted to see it. It was better the second time, maybe cos while was aware of the twitter feed, never followed it. Will give it a go.

I just checked around 5 minutes of this and wow it is absolutely shocking. Shatners character is nothing like the twitter feed or at least not the Dad I had imagined when i read the Twitter updates. He is not angry enough and seems totally aloof. A closer representation to the character is George Costanzas dad in Seinfeld.
Wait a minute..... a show about Frank Costanza.... time to go write the script!

he's dead isn't he, hmm it seemed trying to hard to say no no really this isn't just a twitter show, there real emotion and story behind it and then they forgot the funny, i guess thats cbs for you.

you can really seem how they have to just try and stting along some lines and some "jokes " and some moving from one room to another to try and fill up a half hour

oh did anyone notice while they were watching cbs live in the US *ahem* the cbs symbol and next show trailer, comes up with this bright green flash, its only tv but somehow it really shone in my eye and blinded me, not a good way to make me continue to watch their network.

Oh god this is painful to watch. I found it to be like watching some sort of community theatre play with long dramatic pauses, staring off into nothingness and silly gags.

Could improve, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up.

I sat through it all. Shatner had a few good lines but everyone else seems miscast, and amatureish. Was very weak, did not like.

I gave it two episodes, but will not give it any more. You're just waiting for the one-liner that will make the last 5 minutes worth sitting through, but half of them aren't great anyway. You just can't make a show out of a few funny things an old man says. It was daft of them to even think they could.

I've followed the twitter account for a long time now and there is comedy gold there. I think Shatner was a poor choice, it needs someone with more conviction.
