Solid albeit pretty slow opener. Set the scene nicely for the season ahead.

Was great to see Fringe back wonder how there gonna get the two Olivas switched back now. I loved seeing the REAL Walter at the end one my fav characters on tv ever :D

And two former wire actors in first episode of new season nice!!!!
All we need now is Jimmy Mc Nulty to join Fringe division :pac: I can hope lol

Really liked that opening. I like how they are going to switch from one universe to the other every week.

Also really found it interesting that they implanted alt-Olivia's memories onto Olivia. That should make for some good plot lines I reckon.

Good to have it back anyway.

Something tells me Real Oliva has not fully lost her old memorys yet and that theres still slight amount there.
I kinda hope they keep it fresh and exciting and dont show the two universe storys in every episodes back to back.

I mean id say the next episode will mainly be back with Peter Walter and co in our universe if you can call it that :P

  • Can someone remind me what happened to the guy with the pizza face? Was he burned or something in last season's finale? I just can't remember!

One of the others they brought over with them think was two guys and a girl?

One had fire powers of some sort far as i can remember thats how he turned out way he is now :-)

thought it was excellent all the talking of what would happen olivia, would never had thought of that in a hundred years,

id say there has to be something of olivia left, it will be interesting to see how shes gonna return to our reality, this could go on all season, and altivia seems to be settling in pretty well over here, with her now blonde hair, her conversation with walter kinda gave her away, but walter didnt click on, was it the shoes he was wearing, she was on about if he was trying to bring them back, and walter said he didnt know they left,

i thought it strange the bubbs was there in the end, did he phone fringe division, of was he just there to keep and eye on olivia, (did an observer put him there?)

also loved the DOGS sign in bubbs taxi, i assume its a play that it was advertising, and you can now go on daily trips to the moon,:D

i wonder though will something go wrong with altivia over here, is there something specific that will allow people stay on there opposite sides for so long, we know the cortexifan made oliva immune to it, and bell obviously had hes way to, but i cant see anybody just being able to switch with no affects,

Kinda slow opener, but enjoyable....720p makes this a must program to see!, it was basically an opener to setup the season, Olivia-centric....not a huge amout of arc progression.

    I'll stick with it.

As already said, solid opener, the show never tends to rush into story lines and this season will be no different...
Bupps from the wire is an excellent actor; hope to see more of him...

Not sure whether Olivia's memories have gone...something tells me her special childhood abilities will come in to help...
Plenty of Olivia, never a bad thing!

Decent opener. Looking forward to where this storyline will take us!

I was dissapointed at the end when the zeppelin didn't appear 'over here' :(

Other than that a good show. Apparantly things will be moving a bit quicker this season as well which can't be a bad thing though I've a feeling it'll soon get infuriating only seeing each half of the story every second week.

    Good solid opener.
I loved the little traces of exposition "over there"...the "Shexxon" petrol station, the radio report referring to "...former President Kennedy..."
I'm sure Peter will cop on soon enough, the tat on the back of her neck might give it away :)

I absolutely love the fact that the show refers to the other Walter as "Walternate" too. Got a giggle out of me when Peter said it.

Very good season opener and loved the mild differences "over there" - Dogs instead of Cats and the Zeppelins. However the guy riding the penny farthing kinda just got to me.

Not sure I like where this is going.. and it really shouldn't take Peter and Walter long to realise that ain't Olivia, she's a completely different person in character.

Im not so sure our Olivia has become Alt.Olivia like they think. I think it's more likely that she realised what they were trying to do when the mother questioned why she knew to go there and then decided to play along. Plus the whole idea seems kind of ridiculous, what's the point in convincing Olivia that she is Alt.Olivia when they want information known by Olivia? If she becomes Alt.Olivia surely that information will no longer be available as Alt.Olivia would not have known it? Or it would be a case of her acting as Alt.Olivia and wondering how she came to have her powers.. or something! It could get messy!

one presumes that if you were trying to keep someone locked up you changed the codes on the doors, but i guess that was their plan to let her escape, a bit unconvinced of bubbles sudden change of heart and back again.

you only saw a minute of her, i wonder did they do the same memory thing on alt.olivia

not really, its just olivias has a great memory, that was a long ass code, an she only escaped about 10 minutes after going through that door, they didnt want her to escape, but it seems to have worked out for them in the end,

ya im a bit suspect of bubbs, especially at the end, did he contact fringe divison, or did an observer cantact him to watch olivia, or was he just being a nice guy waiting to see if she was ok,

I don't think they would do it to her. They want her to report back to Walternate, like the faux-Charlie did too.

Not a bad start. I think it benefited from remaining largely Olivia centric rather than trying to give everyone equal screen time. Not sure about a few things, but we'll see.

I'm not fully sold on the implementation of the alternative world. I mean a penny farthing, really? It looks as if they just took a few kooky ideas and used them rather than put any strong thought into it.

Other than that it progressed well. I definitely like the idea of Olivia's memories being replaced with Alt. Olivia's. Not sure why yet but then it's clearly an important plot strand, so I can wait.

Didn't know about it switching each week, although that makes sense given the ending.

    Anyone spot the Observer?

Did it bother anyone else that Charlie was bald at the end of last season which I believe was only 2 days ago in the shows time and now he has hair?

It bothered me. I mostly noticed it because I watched last season's finale and the first episode of this season back to back the other day.
Fairly solid episode. Got down to business right away with Olivia breaking out. Steady pace, but nothing too high octane.

Fringe is really gonna have to wow me this season. The story arc that is going on at the moment just doesnt interest me.

    It started so well.

    a penny farthing where?

    a penny farthing where?
I think it's when Olivia goes to find the premises of Massive Dynamic and it turns out to be a park.
The penny farthing is in the scene, if my memory serves me correctly.

Does anyone else think 'Bubbles' driving the cab is actually the alternative Bubbles from The Wire ? The character was talking about being in a real bad place, just like the Wire Bubbles, before he was helped and the two take different paths.

That's how I saw it and it would be something the writers would do.

That very thought entered my mind also when I was watching it. Would be funny if that was intended for sure.

Also whats with the ambered areas ?

when walter went to get peter all those years ago he created a kind of soft spot between the universes, where most of the laws of physics are in disaray, but it has caused a chain of such events to happen on there side, which is what the amber is for, whenever an event starts to occur they evacuate as many people as possible and set off the amber which encases the area is the solid amber thus stoping the soft spot,

the war is more the fact the walter took walternates son and never returned him, and the fact that walter started the events over there, each time something happens over there they probably consider it an attack on them from us, but its actually just a chain of events,

yes the shapeshifter are from the other universe, they havent quiet figured out how to send humans over here safely, so the shapeshifter are there best option for long term missions, william bell explained to olivia that a person can only shift so many times before there body starts to give out, bell was stuck over there cause he was afraid that another trip back would kill him, i think olivia can shift as much as she wants due to the cortexifan in her system,
