    http://www.rte.ie/news/2010/0923/students.html

This makes my blood boil, here we are in the middle of a depression with a budget that will cut billions 2 months away and we have 4 girls who came here from Nigeria 2 years ago taking a action against the H.S.E to the high court, costing us millions i presume.
Why the hell should we provide any thing to these people, we owe people from Nigeria nothing zero zilch.

Should have been deported immediately after they first arrived. Blame the liberal morons.

I cant understand how they were left in, where are the direct flights from Nigeria to Ireland? There are none is the answer. Have we got any immigration control in this country:mad:.
So we leave them in and they end up costing us millions:mad:

It doesn't say whether or not they are illegal immigrants.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

    Leviticus 19:34

The direct flights point is a goodun. Hadn't thought about it before.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,988 ✭✭✭Monsieur Folie

I think it's ridiculous that we're allowing this.

I'm not racist or xenophobic, but as a nation we need to get ourselves out of the rut we're in before we should be caring for immigrants (possibly illegal too, wasn't mentioned).

Taking high court action after our country was good enough to take them in is downright ridiculous. **** the ruling, if they're that ungrateful we should just send 'em back.

If I was a poor, 'unaccompanied minor' entering a first world country from a third world country, and had them care for me, and educate me, I would not be causing a massive fuss if they fecked me across the country to study elsewhere.

If they hate it so much, send them home. End of.

Yeah but they sure as hell are not paying their way or working, paying income tax etc.
    They are parasites.

Unless they have solid proof that these 4 girls who've been living in Ireland for two years and know about 5 words of English had the potential to accomplish anything decent in the LC then it shouldn't be worth anything. The fúcking settlement will be worth more than they'll earn in their entire lives.

    Link?
Two of the students were living in hostel accommodation in Galway and went without lunch on some days because they could not return to the hostel for lunch. They were unaware that a packed lunch could be provided.

They don't sound like girls with their hands in the government's pocket.

We have already had another scam artist from Nigeria in Sligo costing us millions and i read somewhere that they are thousands of Nigerians on social welfare and getting rent allowance, why the heck should we support these con artists, they came here claiming refugee status when in fact they were just economic migrants or they came here by getting a woman pregnant and being allowed stay here by having a child born here.
The interesting part about this is most of the ones who were allowed to stay in 2005 under the Irish born child scheme will have to renew there leave to remain next year.
What i want to know is are they going to renew the ones who have criminal convictions here and the ones who are claiming social welfare here because these people's leave to remain should be cancelled and deported back to where they came from.

One causing trouble on the bus today, little rats getting paid to live here with free accommodation, food and water, transport, healthcare, education. It's an absolute disgrace, we wouldn't give that to our own!

We've let in many immigrants before these four and quite a few haven't cost us millions (your exaggerated estimate). Maybe it's to do with the gob****es who think it's good to treat these people like footballs, bouncing them all over the country.

"The four girls, who arrived in Ireland from Africa two years ago as unaccompanied minors, were cared for in Dublin at first, but were moved to adult hostel accommodation in Galway when they reached the age of 18."

They are adults now, process their asylum application, if they fail then ship them back, end of story!!!

Yes we have let in legal immigrants the difference is they were legal not scam artist bogus asylum seekers out to bleed everything they can out of this country. On your second point maybe they think its good to treat the Irish taxpayers like they personal slaves.

Well there is no direct flights between Ireland and Nigeria, last time i checked we had no open labour market between Ireland and Nigeria.
So they came here because they wanted a easy life at the expense of Irish taxpayers and most likely claiming they were fleeing persecution from Nigeria:rolleyes: when in fact it has been proven on countless occasions that Nigerians are nothing more than economic migrants not legitimate refugee's.
I will try and find a link by the relevant department where it shows that 98% of all Nigerians are rejected for refugee status in this country because they are just economic migrants wanting a soft ride.
Time to call a spade a spade in this country and less of this political correctness malarkey.

Oh, I see now, so it really has nothing to do with the four girls, it's all Nigerians you have a problem with?

Yes it is all the ones who came here by either lying or getting a woman pregnant in order to stay, they came here under false pretences and it shows when 98% of them are found out to be bogus aslylum seekers by our own goverment.
Some people live in a great world where they think we should support people who lie and decieve to get into a country.

I am not saying he is, but why should someone be banned for being a bigot?

If there views are sooo ludicrous and outrageous, then surely it should not be too difficult for you come up with a suitable reply that will make little of their arguments.

Why must we always wish to ban views that we don't find palatable.

Once no personal abuse is involved, I don't see the problem.

who said anything about a ban?

I dont give a flying f*ck about the 'rules' in this forum.

I find the OPs opinions utterly distasteful. He's using 'facts' that he hasnt a hope of backing up in his argument and I find it somewhat unevenly handed that hes given time and space to vent this garbage when other opinions about less important aspects of life are clamped down upon

    But anyhoo..do carry on.

Why did these girls come to Ireland and not stay in the UK? Is it because they know ireland is such a soft touch?

It annoys me to see the carers allowance been cut, and then people coming here to try to take advantage of our generous benefits. Our state is looking after them and they still aren't happy.

What's frivolous about their case? A human being has a right to some consistency in their life. Students will do better if they know they can go home to the same accommodation more than one night in a row.

I'm a student. I was refused back to education because I was a few days short on my social welfare claim (which I was receiving because I'd lost my job, not left it). All I have coming in during term-time is €3250. Would love if the HSE gave me €19 a week & paid for my accommodation.

This is probably not straightfoward as it reads

I do think however that our emigration laws need a serious overhaul
we do need to look after our own first

that said we still had people here on "Unemployment" when anyone who actually wanted a job could have gotten one - so I think the entire Social Welfare system needs tighter controls!
I have 2 sons students who we support & we are proud to do so
its just a shame not everyone takes pride in providing for their families

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,295 ✭✭✭✭Duggy747

Something doesn't seem right in this report, I'd let it pan out until I'd make any sort of comment regarding what "Them dar foreigners" are doing.

Still, I don't blame the Nigerian girls over this High Court debacle, moreso the liberals and solicitors pleading the weeping heart case. It's a shame our government treats these poor kittens so badly, I mean, they'd probably have a better, more fulfilling life if they went back to their own countries*

    * = Sarcasm Alert!
