When texting and a replacement word pops up - how do you prevent it replacing the word you are typing? I've tried tapping everywhere and it just continues to put in its own word. Also is there a way of getting it to suggest other words if its not the one you're looking for? Cheers

I've the opposite problem. It won't replace the word with the suggestion for me. Any ideas?

When it offers the alternative, are you just pressing "space"? Thats what i do anyway.

Nothing worse when you want to send a text in a hurry and maybe you want to say, for example, the word hell.

It'll be a cold day in he'll before I'll let that prick take my job.

And you could correct it 3-4 times and it'll still insist that there is no such thing as hell.

Setting-> General->Keyboard-> Auto correction and Check spelling to ON

If you search for a word through the safari search feature it'll be saved into your dictionary.

What baffles me is why des or Des always comes out as DES. What's that about?

This is very true but des is a common word in French, in which I write daily so it is très perplexing that it constantly insists on DES, in either tongue.

There can be some hilarious suggested words that slip in after you've typed without checking. There's a post in the big 3 thread I just read and I'm sure the member meant "towards" but "toasted" came up. "...toasted the end of my bill cycle...". Love it.

DES is the name of an encryption, like AES or MD5. I guess it thinks you mean that. Strange one though. Try changing the dictionary to French?
