surprised this didn't pop up in the news or aertel or anything but did anyone else experience 2 small ESB blackouts last evening? was it Dublin wide or just the D6 area where I am? Is it the rain that does that or what? seemed odd.

Why would it be on the news if they were "small"? Maybe lightning?

If it only hit one transformer serving a block of houses in D6, it wouldn't be worth reporting on the news.

It could have been lightening or it could have been some kind of local fault. If you ring ESB Networks (even if you're with another supplier) they have an automated line that gives you information about outages.
