    Hi There

My friend bought a 07 car 3 months ago from a main dealer. Car is fine no problems. Dealer said car was serviced and new tyres on it and 12 month warranty. But the other day she looked at the service book and it said car was last serviced last November and its next service is due at xxkm or Nov 10. As she wont meet the milage it will be due in Nov. I said to her she should have checked it before she left but she said she didnt think. I also told her to ring the dealer and get him to honour a service on the car. Has she any chance?

It's quite possible that they just didnt stamp up the service book. Happens all the time. Have you any proof that the car wasn't actually serviced?

If the dealer took that in as a trade in last Nov. and serviced it then where was he wrong??

Buyer should have at least looked att he service sticker on windscreen or wherever it was put.

Drive on and get it serviced when due. It may only be an oil/filter service anyhow.

She says there was 5000km between the service and when she got it. I told her to ask them for free labour and pay for oil and filter.

But has she actually found out that the car was definitely not serviced? It may be the case that they did the work and just didnt bother stamping up the book. Although tbh I really didnt need a service so they may have skipped it.

I would put money on the service book just not being stamped.
