springer pup and fireworks (gundog)

    Lads

    I have a 10 week old springer pup who i am training too be a gundog(hopeflly) hes a lively pup and not shy i am keeping in the kennels with another springer,its that time of year again for fireworks and bangers as i hear them tonite when i was putting him back in the kennel ..can anyone experienced in training a dog advise am i doing the right thing in leaving the dog out for the next few months while all this banging is going on or do ye think it might make him gunshy.:confused:

    Once its not beside him, my lad is fine with them.... though 10 weeks is very young. My advice......

    Put the youngest child in the kennel or the wife and make room for the dog:D

    it will be bad from now until nov 1st, i always bring them in halloween as thats the worst, any other night they dont mind it, chance leaving them out and if its very loud bring the pup in

    Ya im a bit nervous about it so i think i will bring him in its only bangers at the moment their not too bad i suppose..

    i can hear them quite clearly ill leave him for tonite and ill get a crate for him tomorrow ,dont want missus coming too a mess in the morning or ill be minus a pup :o

    you said the pup is in with another springer older and steady to shot? if the other dog dosent mind the bangers chances are it will be good for the pup to be out with him but keep an eye on his reaction if you can, observe him in the kennel from a distance while the bangers are going off, any signs of shyness bring him in to the house.

    Have him brought in a few days now didn want too take the chance
