    Hey Girls,

Just looking for advice on the easiest eyeliner to use on your upper eyelids? I want something a baby could use without messing it up:) Also, is liquid or pencil easiest?

    Would love some recommendations!:)

I've not got the steadiest hand (thankfully more practised now!) so I used to use liquid eyeliner. Threw it on willy nilly and then used a cotton bud to wipe away what I didn't want - I found it much easier than trying to get the line perfect everytime, not to mention match the other eye.

I've tried loads and found 'L'Oréal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Eyeliner' liquid eyeliner to be the best. It's cheap enough (roughly €10) and extremely easy to use. It gives great results whether you're looking for a precise thin line or a bold, daring line. Awesome stuff. I can't live without it. 10/10

It depends what kind of look you're going for really. I wear black pencil during the day and liquid at night as i find liquid is too harsh for daylight.

Pencil is easy to blend and make more subtle looking. I use Borjois Khol and contour or Rimmels

I tend to warm it up by blowing on it :o to make it softer. I smudge a line under my bottom eyelashes and mascara on top lashes. I find thats enough for daytime.

If im glamming it up then the liquid i use is also Rimmels

I use the one with the skinny feathery tip rather than the hard nib type one. If not using liquid i draw a skinny line with pencil and gently smudge for a more smokey look.Kind of like this (less harsh than the one above).

Check out Youtube always great vids on there. ;)

Loreal superliner. It has a little nib on it that makes it soooo easy to apply! I am the ultimate liquid eyeliner retard but I usually get one eye correct with this even though I do it everyday! :)

Great replies so fast! I want a look that doesn't look too over the top, just makes the overall look a bit nicer! Kind of like this but not even flicked out at the ends, just enough to give a bit more oomph if that makes sense! I have an awful unsteady hand and can never seem to match my eyes to each other so I need an idiot proof one:D

I know you're looking for the "easiest" eyeliner (pencil is a lot easier than liquid if you have never used liquid liner before by the way) but I really recommend MAC fluidline. Its more like a gel and comes in a little pot, I use 2 brushes with it usually, one angled brush to apply it and another brush to smooth it out/blend it so the lines aren't too harsh. It lasts all day too!

That actually sounds a little easier. At the moment I'm using the liner eyepowder from my Bobbi Brown Shimmering nudes palettes with a little liner brush I got with the Christian Dior eye palette. I think I may be steadier with a little brush like that, there's loads of great advice here I'll have to go in and check it out!

Just every now and again I randomly buy a mac eye pencil, come home and end up never using it because it's like a crayon when I put it on!

+1 for gel liners. I have a 2 fluidlines and a bobbi brown one, all are very easy.

Tho most days I use that colour from shimmering nudes myself as well :) only for boring work makeup tho, it's the fastest.

I use liquid eyeliner almost every day, and I use probably the cheapest one around, essence, €2.99! It's brilliant, the black one is very smooth to apply, and I use a lovely brown one that is much thicker and takes literally seconds to put on. I've used others costing €5-€20 and I always go back to the essence one.

Some eyeliners that I have tried lately that I think are worth the money.

M·A·C 'Fabulous Felines - Leopard Luxe' Superslick Liquid Eye Liner.

I find gel liner by far the easiest. It's simple to get a straight line and even if you mess it up you can just blend it out and pretend that's what you meant to do.

Urban Decay's 24/7 liners are good too, nice and smudgy and lasts all day. If you get one though make sure you get their grindhouse sharpener, otherwise you'll lose half your pencil trying to sharpen it.

I think I may try the gel! I'll let them try it out on me so I can see what it's like and if I can master it!

How much is the Bobbi Brown one?

It's 21 dollars but really worth it. I was fairly skeptical about trying it and the price was off putting but it came highly recommended by a friend who is a make up artist, after my first try I was sold. It has lasted me ages as well :D

+1 on the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliners. I have a fair few types of eyeliner in my collection but these are by far the ones I come back to the most :D

Easy to apply, can be worn for day or night, nice variety of colours, and stays put all day long (I find even the best pencils look a bit too smudged at the end of the day).

Ooh I want yet another new colour one now! :pac:

what about the mac gel liner? how much is it? is the bobbi brown better than mac?

It's either 18 or 18.50, I prefer the MAC one.

I like both, I find the bobbi brown slightly easier to use, it's a little creamier

Actually clinique have one that's cheaper and pretty good as well, it might be a cream liner rather than gel but I really liked it, think I must have used it up. The brush is comes with is too big tho, I prefer a skinny brush like the MAC 209

I use Mac Gel Liner and I love it - I had the smashbox one before and it was useless, all dried up very quickly and didn't stay on your eye very long. But Smashbox have this brush you can buy for applying the gel eye-liner and it's great if you don't have a steady hand or aren't used to applying it.
I think it may be this one:
    http://www.smashbox.com/ARCED-LINER-BRUSH-21

either way they have it at the smashbox counter in debenhams so you could just ask. its €19 i think :D

Oh that brush looks fancy! Not sure now whether to go for Mac or Bobbi Brown, I'm tempted for whatever's cheaper:D

I am addicted to eyeliner and never go out without it! MAC fluidline is the bee's knees! It is A LOT easeier to use a gel liner than any other type. Some people like aa anglr brush and some like a pointed brush like the MAC 210 (like me!)

The new MAC liquid liners are fast and easy to use to and the navy one (Signature Blue) is beautiful and less severe than a black.

Both these products get 11 out of 10 from me :P

+1 for Mac fluidline. I find its better when it dries out a bit after a few mths as you have more control with it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 902 ✭✭✭lainey316

I picked up the new essence black mania felt tip in dunnes last night - perfect cats eyes flicks instantly. It's not black enough, so I'd probably go over it with blacktrack fluidline, but the shape is amazing and so easy to use - with the gels I tend to go crooked or uneven, and end up winehousing it trying to even my eyes.

+1 Bobbi Brown - great liner, doesn't dry out like MAC one. Once you try it, you won't go back to any other. MAC to a great fine liner brush with is good for precision.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,127 ✭✭✭Linguo

Like the look of the Mac brush but do they do an angle one that creates a thin line similar to the Mac 210? I think I'd find an angle brush easier but am not sure!

I use the essence ones as well .... I'm forever loosing my makeup so no point spending a fortune!

is this a gel liner too? where do you get it and how much?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,274 ✭✭✭Orlee

no it's kind of liquid? It's a pen with and angled top - I think it's like 2.99?!

    Got them in Dunnes

3.49 for the angled one. 2.99 for the pointy tip. the angled one is the job.

I think it is a preference thing...i find the pointed brush much much easier than the angled one for subtle lines especially.

    Hi,

I'd suggest clinique gel/cream liner. it's very easy to apply especially if you use an angle brush.

MAC 208 brush is the bomb - a very fine, angled eyeliner brush ~ €20 give or take.

Yeah looks really good, need to buy all the things I want in installments, I have a big ol' list!:D
