Premiership footballer arrested on suspicion of rape

Saw earlier that Titus Bramble had been arrested on suspicion of rape, didnt see anything about it here (apologies if i missed it)

Anyone have any more info on it?

Seems to be just one story after another about footballers these days, but rape is such a serious charge that I hope for his sake its not true

Well what happened in the past doesn't affect this rape charge but all the same, it doesn't look good

I'd go as far as to say that in stories like these the footballers are innocent more often than they are guilty. Wouldn't jump to too many conclusions.

Could be the case that a girl hooked up with the footballer and wanted to take it further, famous footballer decided he wanted nothing to do with her and it was a one night thing and said girl cries rape.

Now, if its a genuine case of rape then throw the book it them, anyone really not just footballers, but when you hear bulls**t stories when girls make it up its just sad and takes away the validity of genuine cases and claims.

Haha, that's hilarious. It's nothing to do with stuffing, or chickens (directly). Its short for spit roasting, ie one guy on one end, second guy on the other.. like a spit roasted pork.

While it's funny and all that, when claims like this are disproven (and I'm not saying this one is false) the accuser should have to do time in my book. Can ruin peoples lives and reputations.

A gossip mag in the US is running a front page story that Beckham had several trysts with an expensive hooker called Irma Niki in 2007. The magazine is called InTouch Weekly I think. Who knows whether that's true or not, though I'm sure it very well could be.

As for Bramble, he's pretty fcuked if this is true. But I'd very much agree with fkiely that girls who make up sh1t like this should do jailtime themselves.

Seriously though, I suspect it may be an "ardent" Newcastle fan with an axe to grind. Personally i think a footballer who in all fairness can probably get whatever they want in any nightclub would rape someone in a dark alleyway....

I actually think he's not a bad player for 80 mins. The other 10 is what lets him down. He makes some brilliant challenges and clearances as well as picking out the odd 50 yard cross-field pass. Hes big strong and extremely quick. Unfortunately its the simple 5 yard pass to a defensive team mate that invariably turns into a perfect through ball for the opposition. Really seems to be an issue of concentration.

Id never want him in my team (again) though. If the great SBR could not sort the lad out no one can

Do people on here actually watch football?

Bramble is a very improved player(player of the year at Wigan 08/09), the last few years he has been solid although he didn't have the best of seasons last year but he is not as bad as people here think.

He won the player of the year award at Wigan. Nothing wrong with being an improved player, which he quite clearly is. Fair enough he was ****e and made a lot of mistakes early in his career but he's a solid player now imo.

Roasting is not illegal for obvious reasons, but the girl that was part of the roasting story claimed she only consented to one of the guys having sex with her but then others joined in and took turns on her. I think they could not prove one way or another what happened.

This arrest highlights a lot of worries in football. On one hand, footballers are easy targets for women making false allegations. But footballers seem to live a lifestyle similar to Caligula or Elagabalus. It would be difficult for any man to stay grounded when there is a never ending parade of girls throwing themselves at you (I know I find it difficult ). It is not THAT far fetched to imagine a footballer (I emphasize I am NOT talking about Bramble) who is used to getting any woman he wants getting angry at a woman who turned him down. The "do you know who I am?" types.
