Hi, hope this is the right forum, mods please move if you need to.

I am starting a dance class in a room in a pub in a few weeks, nothing too strenuous in terms of dance just something thats fun and easy. Do i need to arrange insurance, or will the pub insurance suffice?

Should i have one of those no responsibility taken for injury forms or something?

    Thanks

As usual, the answer is "It all depends".

Are you paying for the room, is it already insured, what is it insured for, does the pub have a dance-hall licence, are you charging for the classes, are you a qualified teacher, are you affiliated to some professional organisation, etc.?

    Have you taken advice?

kikililly I would say that the short answer is yes. If someone gets injured in one of your classes, there is a chance that they will sue you. In the unfortunate event of something like that happening you would be very glad to have insurance.
