The second year of Entrance Exhibitions

    Does anyone know whether the second set of book vouchers will be posted out? I read somewhere that they would be "posted in September", but I've also heard that we have to go in to the office ourselves and collect them.

    It's annoying cause I'm supposed to buy books (and have them read) before next week and if I go ahead and buy them without the vouchers, I'm gonna end up wasting the vouchers on rubbish when I eventually get them.

    Well they got posted out to me last year... and I'm nearly positive it was before the start of term. Maybe ring the admissions office if they don't arrive soon?

    Oh grand, I'll hopefully get them this week then. Thanks :). I know they send the JF ones out in October so the SF ones'll have to be soon anyway. Didn't wanna have to go into the office and demand them! haha

    Actually, since this thread's here anyway, does anyone know when the book prizes for getting a First are sent out? Is it at the same time?

    I don't know if it's still the case, but when I was starting college you had to pick up the Entrance Exhibition book vouchers yourself from the Exams Office (I think...) in West Theatre (the door to the right of the Exam Hall as you face it). Same with the book prizes for getting a first. It could have changed since, but if you haven't got them yet then you should pop into the office to see if they have them.

    Is the book prize for getting a first in addition to the prize you get for coming first in your course?:) The prizes for coming first in your course have been sent out already, about a week after the results came out.

    You get a prize for coming first in your course? Whatever it is, if you get a first you get a book token regardless of other prizes, I'm fairly sure.

    There are prizes for coming top of your year in a few different schools, but not all of them. Maths has prizes for every year, which you can check out on their website, for example.

    The book prize for getting a first is quite small, something like €30, and anyone in college (in JF, SF or JS) who gets a first gets one.
