    Nice post Mel just one question are these ok to use with a kimble ??
    Thinking of getting one for better half and it would be nive to have these preloaded for her.

    The books come in 2 formats ePub and Mobipocket. The Kindle can read unencrypted Mobipocket books (which these should be as they are giving them away free). You can also get software to convert ePub books to the Mobi format (Kindle's native format).

    the software is called Calibre(http://calibre-ebook.com/). It's like iTunes for your eBooks. I HIGHLY recommend it. I have used it with both the Kindle 2 & 3 and the Nook and it works great.
