PS3 UK/EU GAME & CONSOLE DIFFERENCES?

Howdy folks. Quick question from a real non techy PS3 owner. I was wondering what are the differences between european PS3 games and UK games, if any? I can play an American Baseball game on my PS3 so I presume I can play european games? Most of my games have the region 2 symbol on the back.

The reason I ask is because PES 2011 is out soon. Its getting realesed in Europe a week before the UK version. If I buy the european version can I play it and select english as the game language, as you can on the demo, and get the english commentary instead of some German guy screaming GOOOAAAALLLLLLL for 4 minutes??? What is the reason for the delay in the release of the UK version and what are the differences in the versions?

What I do know is the difference in the option files realeased containing kits etc will be in the EU form and of course they wont work on my UK version. So maybe its the save data thats only different?

As I said I'm not computer savy at all so forgive me if these question are no brainer questions including the next few.

Is there a difference in the PS3 consoles between the UK EU and US versions besides the obvious power supply and TV output formats but in terms of games? are all PS3 games region free so I can purchase away to my hearts content online or will I find incompatabilities? Thanks in advance for putting up with this. Over and Out. :D

Agree - no real difference in HW, although there is a difference in UK version so you can pick up iplayer, etc...

Real issue is with games. No guarantee that you will get English as a language. Check before ordering.

All PS3 games are region-free, so games from everywhere will work on your PS3.

With regards to the language, I'd imagine most games would have an English language option. UK games have European language options, so I would imagine it would work the other way too.

I live in Sweden, and apart from the manual, there are no problems with the language. Some European games (Swedish and Danish anyway) come with English as the default language!

I would doubt that, you need an english IP address to access iplayer.

What is Iplayer and what will it do? does it affect gaming?

Also if I have a EU version of the game will I only be able to play online in the EU forumns?

BBC iplayer, nothing to do with games. Watch BBC programmes online.

The only game that I'm aware of that has different regions/servers is Demon's Souls. There is an Asian, American and European version. Depending on which one you buy will determine your online server.
Do buy it by the way.

All other games play online as normal.

Since there is no real communication with others It doesn't matter all that much.
I bought the asian version and other than the language in the box, its the same game. There are always people playing on it whenever I play. Totally agree....buy it.
