ESB Connection

    Hi Guys,

I have recently bought a new house in an estate and am doing the wiring myself while the builder is doing everything else, plumbing, carpentry etc.

I am wondering is it my area to sort out the connection with the ESB? the estate is finished and power there etc. I have no problem with the cert and testing so that ok but dunno what the next stage is.

Also how much is the connection if I have to get it, keeping in mind the infrastructure ie. transformer etc is already in the estate and all I need is for them to put in the cable and meter?

    Thanks

builders problem really u just supply the cert to the esb. its the same as with a private house the homeowner organises connection and application you just send in the cert for connection.

    agree with all the above
its normally up to the builder to ensure the esb provide a service to the meter box
it could be your problem if the builder has not provided the ducting and draw wire to facilitate the esb though
im also sure there is a cost for the esb service which the builder should be liable for
get this checked out asap as this could cause delays at the end of the installation

are there esb cutouts in your meter boxs or neighbours properties?

sorry lads just noticed its an old thread
