We decided not to do wedding favours but I'd like to send something with a thank you card to people and I'd prefer to send something from a charity, I've been searching on the internet but all I can seem to find is small cards to put on the place settings at the wedding and I want a small trinket that will fit in an envelope.
Any ideas of charitys that have small trinkets?

Usually a lot of charities do the little discs that you can use for your supermarket trolley (I find them great!). Irish Guide Dogs do cute little badges in the shape of sunglasses.

Was at a wedding recently and the favours were little mobile phone charms and a lovely thank you card for Downs Syndrome Ireland. Makes you appreciate the favours so much more.

I'm also doing this and got mine from the Alzheimer's society, they sent me out lovely cards - size of normal greeting cards, with a pin on the card for people to keep.

Was at a wedding at easter and the party favours were those small caramel eggs in a bowl in the centre of the table... cute idea... not that expensive! Cannot understand giving scratch cards or anything like that...way too expensive. It's an extra 300 euro if you've 150 guests!!? CRAZY! :O

We're doing the same thing for Our Lady's Hospice in Harolds Cross. In exchange for a donation you get notes for every guest explaining that instead of favours a donation has been made to the hospice and each guest also gets a sun flower badge.I'm sure every charity has their own version of this

The Irish Wheelchair Association do little pin badges, quite similar to image below

We're getting ours from the DSPCA because our cat is from the Wellington SPCA and we want him to be at the wedding in some way :) You can either pay 1EUR or 3EUR per head. 1EUR gets you a card saying thanks to the bride and groom for donating. 3EUR gets the card plus a little dog or cat pin.

I was up there a week or so ago talking to them about it and they were lovely, plus I had a look at all the kitties (all of whom I wanted to take home) so it was nice to see where my money is going to. They gave me a sample card and pin to take home too so I can remind myself what it will look like. They'll do other things for you too if you want to send thank you cards and not have place cards, they were very flexible about what they could print out.

I like the idea of charity favours. Any favours I've got from weddings are sitting in a drawer somewhere so I like the idea of people benefitting from the money you'll spend on them.

Ditto on the Dublin SPCA favours. My brother and his wife gave the little cards and badges as wedding favours. I love mine.

Really though, I don't think this day in age, couples should feel obliged to provide wedding favours. Buying everyone dinner and a few drinks is more than enough.
