    Hello.

    I am doing a Computer Network Technology course in Monaghan Institute and we have been asked to go on Work Experience for 3 weeks at the end of January 2011.

    1) The first thing that has come to my mind is about security.
    • We have been asked to get a site plan or a blueprint of the companies network BEFORE we go on work experience. I have no knowledge of the company and I feel that a stranger walking into the business and asking about the companies' network is wrong and infringes the Data Protection Act.
    2) Skills
    • I have only been at this course since the start of September and I feel that I do not have enough skills to actually be tampering with the companies network. It's like sending a person to Japan and he/she not knowing Japanese.
    I feel that doing work experience with companies network is wrong and that I shouldn't be near a server until I get a degree in networking.
