    Hey guys

As the title says, must have damaged the gearbox of my passat recently, went out to start it today, fired it up and stuck into R and revved and nothing, nada, didn't even engage gears. Tried all positions, nothing, no movement.
So looked under the bonnet and all looked good, then looked under car and could see a slow drip of oil / transmission fluid onto the ground. There was a stain on the ground, seems it was happening slowly over time.
Only thing I can think of was a couple of weeks ago we were out driving by the coast, narrow bumpy road, when we went over a brow followed by a sharp dip, the car bottomed out with a big thud.
So does anyone think I'm in major trouble here or can it be repaired handy enough?

Pretty worried about it now, need this like a hole in the head ( or gearbox)

Gearbox is f*cked if its not even going into Gear.

New one is your only option i'd say:(

Get some AT fluid into it, see if it makes any difference to it.

    Just to be sure.

    Cheers guys

Its getting picked up today on a flat bed for diagnostics and estimates, and apparently getting the trans fluid in requires a pressurised adapter or something like that.

SO I have to wait and see. Wife wants rid now, I've had it 6.5 years and am very attached.

    Git it back today

Not as bad as first thought, small crack on sump skid plate, they were able to weld it, no further damage inside.

Now decision time, another VW Passat or Mazda 6, pug 407, Mondeo etc. To me at the moment theres nothing standing out. Going diesel this time.
