i ran into back of somebody in my 00 ford fiesta, anyways my fault and I only have 3rd party so have to pay for damage to my car myself, its looking like car is a write off from quotes that I have got from crash repair people. The car is still driving fine but needs new bonnet, grill, left from light, damagae doesnt look that bad but they all need to be replaced and cost will be greater than value of car.
i think my only option may be to try to get a new car but i dont know what to do with old one, NCT is up in November and obviously wont pass it and Im sure a dealer wouldnt take it off me.
are there places for scrap around dublin that I could try to get some money back on it.
any help or advise is much appreciated.

You wont get a huge amount in scrap for it; I was talking to the scrapyard in Kilcock and they give something like €100 per tonne for the car. For a Fiesta thats not going to add up to much.

How much were the quotes for repair coming back at? Bear in mind the price of repair could be significantly reduced if you source a lot of the parts second hand in a scrap yard.

Other than that your best bet is to stick up the car on Done Deal as is for parts and see if someone is interested. I wouldnt hold out a lot of hope of getting much for it tho.

Ring around a few scrappies, if its driving they may take it off your hands for 50 euros.

Buy a cheap banger to replace it a 00 Fiesta with that much damage is not worth fixing, you dont know what else could wrong with it.

Id 2nd djimi, 00 fiestas, must be plenty of them knockin around scrap yards and if its just a bonnet, grill and head lamp it shouldnt cost ya more that €150 for the parts which are all very easy to fit and more than likely sourcable in the same colour as your car. only other thing to do then is get the lights focused

Go to scrap yard get bonnet, grill + light. Get them fitted and away you go. You might even be able to fit them yourself if your anyway handy.

If you want to keep the car, try www.partfinder.ie

you may be able to find the parts you need at a fraction of the cost you were already quoted.

IMO this is only a good option if you want to hold onto the Fiesta.

get the bits from a scrappy. and replace them as long as the chassis itself is ok it will be allot cheaper than replacing your car.

Aye OP source the parts out yourself.

I had to source some parts for my own car after the missus hit a fence ( long story )

New wing from micksgarage for 130, new side lamp 20, new upper door hinge 40, 350 for local indie to fill in bumper crack & door dents and respray the wing, door, bumper and spray in the bonnet to make it all look good. Total cost was 540.

It looked an awful lot worse than it actually was. I think the bro took a pic. I must upload it. The before and after shot :D

Oh and a windscreen washer motor broke. There's 2 in the car, 1 broke. Quoted 86 pound sterling for a new 1!!!!!! or 15 euro in the scrapyard hmmmm

I agree with the previous posts, even if you're going to sell it, you might as well try and get as much as you can for it. Fiesta's are a good little seller, it'd be worth getting the parts second hand and tidying it up. If it's a common colour you should be able to source the parts pretty easy and save on the re-spray costs. Check out www.findapart.ie I use this site quiet a bit and find it better than partfinder.
Good luck with it, if I can offer any more advise, I will.
