Try opening a command prompt window and type in each of these commands.
Make sure there are no browsers open (our outlook)
some may give errors post any here

    regsvr32 Browseui.dll
    regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
    regsvr32 Shlwapi.dll
    regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
    regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
    regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
    regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

Also can you post full info from the event viewer for any of the error messages (from browsers not the above dll registering)

    Hi,
I used the above commands & i got error msg for Shlwapi.dll & Mshtml.dll. Those files can not be registered.

I restarted the laptop i did browse a web page but i got the same error msg saying that internet/window explorer has encountered a problem & needs to close. The web page has disappeared after few seconds.

Do i have any problem with my xp operating system.

    I appreciate your comments.

    Thanks.

    What OS are you using.
If you have access to the Operating System Disk that came with the pc, put it in the drive, close any open windows.
    Open command prompt and type

    sfc /scannow

    and press return.

Leave that run through, restart and see if the problem is resolved.
